Opleiding
Prof. dr. Katrien Vandecasteele studeerde af als arts aan de Universiteit Gent in 2003. Ze vervolmaakte haar specialisatie in de radiotherapie aan het UZ Gent in 2009. In 2012 behaalde ze het diploma van doctor in de medische wetenschappen.
Interesses en wetenschap
Wetenschappelijk onderzoek: nieuwe technieken (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT), multidisciplinaire aanpak, morbiditeit en impact op levenskwaliteit na behandeling bij gynaecologische tumoren, immunogene celdoodmechanismen.
Prof. Vandecasteele is momenteel houder van een halftijds postdoctoraal mandaat voor fundamenteel, translationeel en klinisch onderzoek van de Stichting tegen Kanker.
