Research

The treatment of patients is supported by scientific research in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of Ghent University which has a great number of well equipped laboratories at its disposal.

Our researchers are developing new methods of treatment and diagnosis that can later be applied in medicine like in the N. Goormagtigh institute for normal and pathological anatomy, the Heymans institute of pharmacodynamics and therapy, the laboratory of bacteriology and virology, medical genetics, social health care and the department of hygiene and social medicine.
