Taking part in medical research
- The patient may be asked to take part in medical research which has been approved by the Commission for Medical Ethics. When such research is planned, the patient must be given a thorough explanation and he must expressly agree to take part. He retains the right not to take part, and can withdraw from the research at any time.
- Refusal to take part in medical research will have no influence on the quality of care.
