Declaring incapacity for work

Access to health care
In Belgium, everyone is entitled to medical care. The law on compulsory health insurance for medical care and benefits governs this entitlement. If you do not have valid health insurance in Belgium, then, depending on your residence status, an applicable procedure for medical care will be applied. You can always ask your ward or department for an informative and exploratory discussion with the social worker.

You may not leave the grounds of Ghent University Hospital during your stay without the consent of the department concerned and/or the treating physician. If you wish to leave the hospital against your doctor’s advice you will in some cases be asked to certify that you do so at your own risk. You are allowed to refuse to sign this statement. |
